My Story

Alex Pendry As I mentioned earlier; my name is Alex Pendry and we have just gotten a new puppy about 3 weeks ago. Everyone was so excited about having a new puppy in the house that they could run and play with; especially the kids.

However what has happened has totally surprised us and in no way were we prepared for what we are experiencing. My puppy which is named Sasha has turned into a puppy biting machine; in fact she runs around chasing the kids trying to bite them. To learn more about this bad behavior Click Here

At first we thought is was cute after all her bites did not hurt; however just this past weekend she drew blood from one of my children’s toes. She will not stop until I run and pull her off of them. I am scared that one day I may not be in the same room with them; I do not even know what would happen.

I know that puppy biting is all a part of learning how to begin house training a puppy. I was not prepared to have to deal with “Cujo.” Well I had tried disciplining her with water bottles and using scary noises to teach her to stop biting.

When a friend mentioned puppy obedience training to put an end to puppy biting; I was all in. I have discovered that one of the best ways to deal with this behavior is to begin crate training.

I used to believe that this was inhumane behavior; but after watching her latch onto my children I want to teach her how to get along with the family. I have just started implementing this dog obedience training in the last week and already I am amazed at how quickly she is learning.

While she still does attempt to bit my children; she is now listening to the command “No” which at one point she did not even hear us.
